Very exciting news, my friends. Yesterday I purchased my very first piece of original art.
Beautiful, no? My bedroom furniture arrangement is still up in the air but this paint on canvas is definitely going to be incorporated somehow. I love the abstract shades of pink and coral. And the best part? It was only $20! Nevermind that the artist is five. Both of us were very excited. I got some art and he gets to buy a new toy car.
My friend Bethany is a legit painter who’s doing a great job of exposing her two kids (2 and 5) to the arts at an early age. The other day she posted a couple photos of canvasses she and the kids had done together using paints from the mistint shelf at Lowes and said she was thinking about starting an Etsy shop to go towards their college fund. I told her I’d be interested in this one not knowing whether it’d been done by her or one of the kids. The heart wants what the heart wants, and I wanted this one.
Bethany’s house is so cool and kid-friendly and I’m so excited that she agreed for me to come over and photograph it for the blog sometime soon. It’s full of color and art and fun. I can’t wait to show y’all!
I hope y’all are having a fabulous Thursday. I’m stressing out a bit because my LCSW exam is in only two weeks and I’m behind on my studying schedule! I’ve been out of school for four years and there’s a lot I’d forgotten. If you need me I’ll be reviewing clinical theories…
It’s quite beautiful! What a great idea to buy paint from the mistint shelf for art projects! I think I feel a project coming on.
I know! I want to try painting now too!
